My name is Chelsea. For years I’ve been told by others that I should write a public blog but I haven’t wanted to take people up on their suggestion of me writing a blog until now because I’ve finally found things that are exciting to write about.
Initially this blog was only going to be about how I interact with technology as well as tips on how to help fellow blind people move through the world, on terms that *they*, *we*, actually find helpful. But the more I wrote on my blog, the more I remembered how in love with writing I am. And eventually I came to realize the importance of me sharing *all* of my life with my blog readers. So that is exactly what I’ll do throughout these blog pages.
I’ll talk about the years of abuse I suffered at the hands of my biological mom and other blood relatives (on both sides of my families of origin). I’ll talk about what it’s like for me, living as a totally blind woman who also has Cerebral Palsy…and a whole host of other chronic health conditions That I live with, on a daily basis. I’ll talk about my decision to be childfree…but also, about the fact I fully support each individual human being’s right to decide what is and is not right for *their* individual person. I’ll talk about my experiences moving through the world as someone who’s had Repeated trauma throughout her life and how I used to see the world/how I’m learning to see the world now that I’m on what I’d consider to be the right path—a path where I’m living the life I want to live, on my terms, every single day. I’m brutally honest at times but I hope that people will enjoy what I have to say. But more than that, I hope that through these blog pages, people will be encouraged to think differently about subjects that can be uncomfortable to talk about. I also hope that this blog opens doors for others to speak openly about their traumas, heartbreaks, amazing moments in their lives ETC.
I want to leave my mark on the world and I wholeheartedly believe that this blog will do that!! At least, I’m crazy enough to think that I can make the world a little better than it was before I was in it.
